This one sorta evolved (or devolved) into religious iconography. I'm a fan of UFOs and enjoy the odd Renaissance painting that contains unusual things in the backgrounds, so naturally, my doodling turned into a potentially offensive drawing. Sorry if you are irked, but I am just playing around and exploring where my mind takes these things. No harm intended.
***Temporary Sketchbook Detour***
I began a solo motorcycle trip from Los Angeles on Friday, June 22, 2012, heading north, as far as I'm having fun. I'll be updating my sketchbook with posts from the road, and not necessarily artwork. I'm too beat by the time I'm in camp or in a cheap motel.
I'll continue with the sketches when I get back in a few weeks.
Yeah right! It's been months! I'll get back to it as I finish up some classes and have more time again. Maybe in another month, like in February, 2013.

I don't understand the obsession with death, violence, and anti-luck imagery that some motorcyclists employ all over their jackets, helmets, skin, bikes, etc. Motorcycle riding is inherently dangerous and I'm of the school of thought that believes that the ideas and attitudes that you put "out there," attract "like" themes or things. With my ideas about how "it" works, the last thing you want to attract is the essence in these images. Of course, I think this stuff looks bad-ass, but I'm all about all the luck (and spiritual assistance) I can get when riding.

This was one of my best days. I had parked the bike to take in the awesome scenery and give my focus a rest up in the mountains above Whistler, BC. I had left that morning from Port Angeles, WA, via ferry to Victoria, Canada (I made it!). Then rode to Nanaimo, to barely catch the next ferry that would take me on to Vancouver. Leaving the ferry, I took the Sea to Sky Highway (99) through some of the neatest, and treacherous scenery, to arrive in Lillooet that afternoon. I'll be going back!

Tillamook Air Museum had to be explored and really turned out to be quite the treat! I highly recommend going and checking it out if you happen to be anywhere close by (like the Tillamook Cheese Factory (that I cautiously road past (because of the chaos of all of the RV occupants focused on the excitement of free cheese))).
